Am interessantesten ist in Calcio Italia diesmal neben Portaits der Roma-Spieler Alberto Aquilani, Daniele De Rossi und Philippe Mexes ein Schwerpunkt zu italienischen Fußballern im Ausland, mitsamt Interviews mit Cristiano Lucarelli über Donezk ("The diet here is a little strange... The thing that most shocked me when I arrived was the caviar for breakfast!") und Luca Toni über Bayern München ("I speak to Ribery in Modena dialect, which is quite similar to French, so he has great fun with that.").

Die Geschichtsserie widmet sich diesmal den 1940er Jahren und damit logischerweise Grande Torino und dessen Tragödie - wie Giancarlo Rinaldi über den Flugzeugabsturz des Serienmeisters 1949 schreibt: "It is hard to imagine just what that disaster signified at the time. The closest thing camparable in the modern era might habe been if Arrigo Sacchi's Milan side had been wiped out in a similar tragedy. At a stroke you would have lost the future Coaches of Italy, Holland, Milan and Barcelona. Not to mention losing a huge slice of the career of the likes of Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Costacurta. The impact of Superga is almost impossible to overstate."
